The Dong Ho paintings exhibition at the Pont de Long Bien fair was truly a wonderful and meaningful experience. We set up our booth at this fair with the hope of not only sharing the unique Dong Ho art but also contributing to the community and those in need of support.
In the early morning, we, the participants in this project, gathered at a special booth dedicated to Dong Ho paintings. The vibrant and culturally rich artworks made the space come alive. Together, we arranged the paintings, and set up mirrors, so that everyone could admire and shop.
As visitors arrived, we began to engage in conversations and introduce them to the art of Dong Ho painting. I enjoyed sharing about the painting process, the selection of natural colors and materials, and the significance of this traditional art in Vietnamese culture. The customers were genuinely interested and impressed, and some of them purchased paintings to support the project.
However, the most exciting part was not just about selling paintings but also about meeting and connecting with people. I heard many wonderful stories from other participants at the Pont de Long Bien Fair and felt like I had joined a community passionate about art and compassion.
After completing the painting sale activity, we sold 50 Dong Ho paintings and earned nearly 5 million in profit. Although it's not much, it is the effort of the whole team, so this profit will be used to support more than 200 free lunches for patients and their families at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion... It was an exciting and meaningful experience that made me believe in the power of art to connect people and spread love and compassion.
